Description
A two piece kitchen hutch or cabinet constructed from an old farmhouse kitchen sink in a combination of painted and stained wood. The upper section features a tiered crown molding above four doors, including two solid outer doors and two central doors featuring leaded glass panels in a geometric diamond pattern. A recessed open shelf is situated below the central glazed doors. The lower section includes a stained wood countertop with carved drainage grooves and an integrated undermount white porcelain sink. A matching wood backsplash features two circular cut-outs designed for a wall-mounted faucet. The base contains three drawers with stained wood fronts above three painted cabinet doors. The doors are fitted with black-finished iron latches and exterior hinges, while the drawers feature simple round black knobs. The rear side edge of the lower cabinet base has been custom-scribed and cut to fit around specific wall molding, which will affect how the unit sits against a flat wall (Photo 10). A rectangular metal plaque is affixed to the front rail of the base unit just below the sink, reading MURPHY 19 WEST 44TH ST. NEW YORK.

Condition report:
The item shows signs of use consistent with a previously functional kitchen piece. Some water-related wear, staining, and darkening of the wood is visible around the sink opening and on the drainboard area (Photos 5, 6, and 8). The faucet and plumbing fixtures are missing (Photos 5 and 6). The rear side edge of the lower cabinet base has been custom-scribed and cut to fit around specific wall molding, which will affect how the unit sits against a flat wall (Photo 10). Visible nail heads and minor surface scuffs are present throughout the painted and stained surfaces (Photos 5 and 6).
