Description
A collection of vintage professional drafting and engineering tools including slide rules, scales, and geometric aids. One white plastic slide rule with a clear cursor bears the printed mark NATIONAL DIETZGEN NO. 1762 at the lower right. A second slide rule is housed in a stitched brown leather case, and a third is contained within a cream-colored cardboard sleeve. The group includes several wooden scales and rulers in both flat and triangular profiles, including examples in dark-finished mahogany and lighter boxwood. One large clear plastic triangle is marked with the printed text CHARVOZ 15. The collection is further comprised of multiple plastic triangles in green and amber tints, a set of clear plastic French curves, and various protractors. Accompanying the instruments are two large black-finished iron skeleton keys with decorative openwork bows.
The longest wooden ruler measures 12 inches in length.
Condition report:
The items are in used, vintage condition. The leather slide rule case shows heavy surface cracking, scuffing, and wear throughout (photo 1). Wooden instruments exhibit minor nicks to the edges and typical age-related surface wear (photo 1). Plastic drafting tools show light surface scratches and mild yellowing consistent with age (photo 1). The iron keys exhibit minor surface oxidation and wear to the black finish (photo 1).
