Description

This antique pharmacy display bottle is crafted from clear mold-blown glass with a cylindrical body, rounded shoulders, and a wide, flared rim. It is accompanied by a matching ground-glass hollow-blown stopper featuring a flattened, disk-shaped finial. The bottle is characterized by an inset reverse-painted glass label. The label is composed of a white field with gold-tone borders and decorative sunburst motifs in the corners. Centered on the label is the text LYCOPODIUM printed in black, capitalized letters. The base is smooth and clear. May or may not have chips.

Total height including stopper: 10 3/8 inches
Height to rim: 9 inches.

Condition report:

The glass vessel and stopper appear to be in good structural condition with no visible chips, cracks, or fleabites (photo 1). The ground-glass stopper fits securely in the neck. The inset reverse-painted glass label is intact but displays areas of dark discoloration and foxing, particularly along the bottom edge and in the lower right corner (photo 1, photo 4). There is a large area of opaque brownish adhesive residue on the reverse side of the bottle where a secondary label or tape was previously fixed (photo 2). Minor shelf wear is present on the underside of the base.
