Description
A vintage clear glass apothecary chemist’s display jar of square form with rounded corners and shoulders. The jar features a ground glass neck designed to provide an airtight seal with its matching original clear glass stopper, which has a flat, circular finial. Centered on the front of the body is an applied rectangular milk glass label featuring a gold and red pinstripe border. The label is printed in black lettering with the text ACACIA OPT. and is decorated with stylized, thin radiating lines in the upper left and lower right corners. May or may not have chips or cracks.
Height: 10 1/4 inches (to top of stopper)
Width: 3 inches (across body).
Condition report:
The glass body and stopper are in good condition, appearing clear with no visible cracks or large chips (photo 1, photo 3). The ground glass surfaces of the neck and stopper show appropriate wear from use but maintain a functional seal. The applied milk glass label is intact and the text remains sharp and legible; however, there is minor flaking and thinning to the gold and red painted borders (photo 1). A small amount of white interior residue is visible at the very bottom of the jar (photo 3).
