Description
An English ironstone ginger jar of globular form with a matching domed lid. The exterior is decorated in the Fruit Basket pattern, featuring a blue transfer-printed design enhanced by polychrome accents in green, yellow, and brown. The central decoration depicts a woven basket filled with varied fruits, including grapes and melons, set amidst lush foliage. The lid mirrors this motif on a smaller scale with a scrolled border. The base bears a printed blue underglaze mark featuring the name MASON’S positioned above a crown and a banner that reads PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA. The mark also identifies the pattern as Fruit Basket and the country of origin as ENGLAND, accompanied by the text GUARANTEED DETERGENT -PROOF & ACID RESISTING COLOURS. A small stray green pigment mark is present on the base near the manufacturer’s mark.

Condition report:
The jar and lid are in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of repair. The glaze appears clear with no observable crazing. Minor shelf wear is present on the unglazed foot rim, and a small stray green pigment mark from the manufacturing process is visible on the base as shown in photo 4.
